Only 20% of the rough diamonds are Gem Quality and can be polished to a brilliant diamond. Rough diamonds which are not Gem Quality are Industrial and Near Gem Quality. Alan G Jewelers only purchases Gem Quality rough diamonds. Gem Quality rough diamonds have shapes which are uniform, transparent with shinny to slightly dull matted surfaces. Rough diamond should be Cutable.
